The Western Yell County School District has a vacancy in the Western Yell County School Board Zone 1.

An appointment will be made November 9, 2026 by the Yell

County Quorum Court at 6:30 pm at the Yell County Courthouse 101 E 5th ST. Danville,AR 72833.

If you are a qualified elector who resides in the Western Yell County School District Zone 1 who wishes to be considered to fill the vacancy, you may obtain and shall submit

a petition to the Yell County Quorum Court via the Yell County Clerk 101 E 5th St. Danville, AR 72833 no later than October 30, 2026 at 4 pm. Petitions shall contain the following:

(A) Signed by at least twenty (20) qualified electors from the vacant school district or school district zone position; and

(B) States his or her intention to be considered for the appointment to fill the vacancy.

(C) Completed Petition Documents

Upon receipt the Yell County Clerk on behalf of the Yell County Quorum Court will acknowledge in writing the receipt of a petition and promptly inform a candidate if his or her petition has been found to be valid, insufficient, or invalid. If found invalid what the

candidate is required to do to cure the petition before the deadline.

The Yell County Quorum Court may fill a vacancy only with a candidate who has submitted a timely, valid, and sufficient petition.

An elector who submits a sufficient and valid petition under this section shall be given five (5) minutes to present his or her candidacy to the Yell County Quorum Court before

court votes to fill the vacancy on November 9, 2026 by the Yell County Quorum Court at 6:30 pm at the Yell County Courthouse 101 E 5th ST. Danville, AR 72833.

The Yell County Quorum Court may request reasonable information from a candidate to fill a vacancy under this section, including without limitation a request for written answers to questions before a public meeting is held November 9, 2026 by the Yell

County Quorum Court at 6:30 pm at the Yell County Courthouse 101 E 5th ST. Danville, AR 72833.
