Western Yell County School District Selects Mrs. Taunya Parsons as Superintendent

Taunya Parsons, a devoted educator with over 26 years of educational experience, has been selected as the new superintendent of the Western Yell County School District. Mrs. Parsons brings a wealth of knowledge, an abundance of passion, and a pursuit of excellence to her new role. She has served the district as elementary principal for the past three years and is currently Interim Superintendent and Elementary Principal.

Her journey in education spans across different roles, each contributing to her comprehensive understanding of education and leadership. With a foundation built from ten years at County Line School District serving as an elementary teacher and mathematics instructional facilitator, Mrs. Parsons then furthered her commitment to education serving as a math specialist for Guy Fenter Education Service Cooperative. Following her role at Guy Fenter Education Service Cooperative, she returned to County Line as Curriculum and Special Programs Coordinator. Prior to her tenure at Western Yell County Elementary, Mrs. Parsons spent five years at Ozark School District, where she served as the Director of Curriculum and Federal Programs.

The Western Yell County School District is confident Mrs. Parsons’ leadership, expertise, and dedication to student success will lead the district to new heights of academic excellence. We welcome Taunya Parsons to her new role as superintendent and look forward to her leadership in shaping the bright future of education within the district.
